How it works

Every story is checked against more than one source before you read it.

Our news engine follows the same order on every event. Software agents do the reading and cross-checking at speed, and people stay in charge of the stories that matter most.

1

Gather

We collect reports on the same event from official releases, wire services and publisher feeds.

2

Cross-check

Facts are compared across independent sources. A claim only one source makes is marked as such, never stated as settled.

3

Write in Urdu

We write one short story in our own words, in clear everyday Urdu, with each claim tied to the source behind it.

4

Review

An automated review checks every story. Major and sensitive stories also go to a human editor before they publish.

Every story carries a label Developing تازہ ترین Updated اپ ڈیٹ Verified تصدیق شدہ Corrected درستی

The app

Built for a quick, honest read on a phone.

Sorted works the way people already read news on their phones: swipe up for the next story. What is different is how each story is made, and how openly it shows its work.

One story per screen

A headline and a short summary of about 60 words. Swipe up for the next story, or tap to read the full version.

Sources on every story

See which outlets and official bodies reported the event, and which ones are independent of each other.

Breaking news, marked clearly

Fast-moving events appear early with a developing label, then update as more sources confirm the details.

Corrections in the open

When a story changes, the change log shows what changed and when. Nothing is quietly rewritten.

Why Urdu, why India first

A large audience that modern news apps were not built for.

50.8M

  • Short-format news is built for English and Hindi first.Urdu readers mostly get long articles, translated feeds or forwarded messages with no source.
  • Trust is the gap.Showing every source on every story lets readers check for themselves, which matters most when misinformation travels fast.
  • The cost of doing this well has dropped.Large AI models can now read and compare many reports in seconds, so a small team can cover national news with care.

Company

Founder-built in India.

Sorted is an early-stage product, built by a founder who is a full-stack engineer. We are building the app and the news engine now, and preparing for launch in India.

We write every story in our own words from facts reported by others, and we credit each source. We do not republish anyone's articles or photos.
